How Social Media Can Keep You Motivated

  • 0

Sometimes you need that extra push to keep yourself motivated. Social media can be a great way of doing this!

The best way to use technology to keep you on the right track is to surround yourself with positive images. Sometimes you just need that extra push to come from someone else, even if it is just an Instagram account! It can be inspiring to follow fitness accounts as well but sometimes they can project unrealistic images.

Some people find that social media can be one of the best ways to stay on track and manage your improvement. Firstly, you are putting your goal out there for others to see. If you keep your goals to yourself sometimes it’s harder to maintain them, so social media is a great way to express your ambitions and encourage those who are on the same journey as you.

Specific health apps and social media sites such as Instagram and Tumblr can be a great way to note down meals and exercise plans. Many people now use them as their own personal weight loss diary. If you know that others are going to see what you’re eating you’re more inclined to put effort into preparing a healthy meal! Getting likes and comments on the food you’ve made is a great way to build your self-confidence and maintain a positive outlook!

I think that logging your food, whether that’s writing it down or uploading a photo helps raise awareness of your own eating habits. If you can see your portion size in comparison to others it can be quite eye opening. Plus if you are slightly reluctant to upload what you’ve been eating you know you need get back on track!
